Why MediTrust?
MediTrust is an established Australian platform built specifically for anaesthetic billing, used by specialist anaesthetists across the country. It's the system your anaesthetist uses to manage their billing, and payments are processed over a secure, encrypted connection on MediTrust's own servers.
Fast Tracking never sees, stores, or has access to your card details at any point. Your card information goes directly to MediTrust — we only see that an invoice has been paid.

Payment questions
Why am I paying Fast Tracking and not the hospital?
Anaesthetists in Australian private hospitals usually bill separately from the hospital and the surgeon. Fast Tracking is the billing agent for your anaesthetist — we issue the invoice, take payment on their behalf, and pass it through to the doctor. Your hospital and surgeon bills are separate accounts you'll receive from those providers directly.
I never had an anaesthetic — is this a scam?
If you've received an invoice and have no recollection of a procedure involving an anaesthetist, please do not pay and call us on (03) 5323 0275 immediately. We'll verify the patient details, the date, and the anaesthetist on the record. Some patients don't realise an anaesthetist was involved in routine procedures like endoscopy or cataract surgery — but we'd much rather confirm than have you pay something that isn't yours.
Will I get a Medicare or health fund rebate?
It depends on the type of payment your invoice is for. There are two:
Gap payment — you only pay the gap (the difference between the anaesthetist's fee and what Medicare and your health fund cover). Medicare and your health fund pay the anaesthetist directly, so there's nothing further for you to claim back.
Full payment — you pay the full invoice amount upfront. MediTrust then emails you an itemised receipt with the item numbers you'll need to claim your rebates from Medicare and (where relevant) your private health fund yourself.

The amount on my invoice doesn't look right.
Please call us on (03) 5323 0275 before paying. Have your invoice number and any quote or estimate you received before surgery to hand. We'll review the item numbers, the time charged, and the rebate calculation with you. If an adjustment is needed we'll reissue the invoice — paying first and reconciling afterwards is harder than getting it right upfront.
Can I pay by phone or set up a payment plan?
Yes to both. Call us on (03) 5323 0275 during business hours and we can take a card payment over the phone, or discuss a payment arrangement if you need to split the amount across instalments. We'd rather work with you than escalate — please get in touch early if budget is a concern.
What if I pay the wrong amount or pay twice?
Mistakes happen. Call us as soon as you notice and we'll either refund the overpayment to the original card or credit it against an open invoice, whichever you prefer. Refunds via MediTrust typically appear back on your statement within 5–10 business days.
