Where are you actually based?
Bendigo, Victoria — about 150 kilometres north of Melbourne, up the Calder. We’re a Victorian company that has looked after Melbourne anaesthetists since 2018. Your Account Manager handles your billing whether you practise in East Melbourne, Box Hill or Frankston. There’s no offshore call centre and no outsourced switchboard. You’ll speak to your named Account Manager or one of their colleagues.
Is there a Melbourne-based anaesthetic billing service?
We’re not in the Melbourne CBD — our team is in Bendigo, about 150 kilometres up the Calder, and we bill for anaesthetists across Melbourne. Fast Tracking is a Victorian business, founded in 2018 by a Victorian anaesthetist. We collect lists direct from your Melbourne rooms, so you never courier them yourself, and your named Account Manager answers on Melbourne time.
How quickly will I get paid?
We raise the invoice within 48 hours of your MBS codes and times arriving, then lodge and reconcile Medicare, Eclipse, health fund, DVA, WorkSafe Victoria and TAC claims in MediTrust. Rejected or queried claims are followed up every week, and your monthly report shows what has been paid, what is outstanding and what has been queried.
Do you handle WorkSafe Victoria and TAC anaesthetic claims?
Yes. WorkSafe Victoria pays anaesthesia at its own schedule rates, and once a claim is accepted the injured worker generally isn’t charged a gap. The TAC also pays at its own rates, so if your fee is above the TAC rate the patient may need to pay the difference. We set up both at no extra cost, lodge the claims and follow up anything rejected or queried every week.
What software and reporting do I get?
Claims are lodged and reconciled in MediTrust, patients complete an online pre-anaesthetic questionnaire on their phone, and you receive individual monthly reporting showing what has been invoiced, paid and queried. CPD support is included: the patient survey audit that meets ANZCA CPD requirements. There are no software or per-user fees on top of 4.5% + GST.
Is my patient data secure?
Claims are lodged and reconciled through MediTrust, the claiming platform we use for every anaesthetist we bill for. If you have specific questions about how your patients’ information is stored and accessed, ask us before you sign up and we’ll answer them.
Which Melbourne private hospitals do you cover?
The Melbourne anaesthetists we look after work at hospitals and day surgery centres including Epworth Richmond, Epworth Eastern (Box Hill), Epworth Freemasons (East Melbourne), Cabrini Malvern, Cabrini Brighton, Knox Private (Wantirna), The Avenue Hospital (Windsor), Frances Perry House (Parkville), Melbourne Private (Parkville), Mulgrave Private, Holmesglen Private (Moorabbin), Linacre Private (Hampton), Warringal Private (Heidelberg), Peninsula Private (Frankston), St John of God Berwick, and beyond. If you join us and work somewhere we haven’t dealt with before, we’ll build the relationship with that surgical room before your first list. The list above includes the major sites — it isn’t exhaustive. Can’t see yours?
Contact us and we’ll tell you how we’d set it up.
Can you handle a public/private split practice in Melbourne?
Yes — many of the Melbourne anaesthetists we look after run public appointments at the Royal Melbourne, the Alfred, Monash or Austin alongside their private lists. We bill the private work and stay out of the way of your public sessions; we only see what you bill privately.
What does anaesthetic billing cost in Melbourne?
Anaesthetic billing in Melbourne costs 4.5% of collected revenue, plus GST, with Fast Tracking. There are no setup fees, no exit fees, no software charges, and no minimum monthly fee. The same rate as everywhere else we work — Melbourne isn’t priced differently. The full breakdown is on our
pricing page.
Can you handle multi-site practice across Melbourne?
Yes. A single anaesthetist might be at Epworth Richmond on Monday, Cabrini Malvern on Wednesday and Knox on Friday, with a day surgery list in between. We deal with each surgical room individually and collect your lists from each one weekly, so working across several sites doesn’t add to your admin.
How do I switch from my current Melbourne billing service?
Pick a cut-over date. Your previous biller keeps following up the claims it has already lodged; we bill everything from your first list with us, so nothing is billed twice. There is no setup fee and no minimum term.
How switching works.
