Fast Tracking has provided anaesthetic billing services to specialist anaesthetists in private practice across Australia since 2018. Founded by an anaesthetist who bills through the service himself, run by a small team that knows every practice on the books.

Built by an anaesthetist who saw the same problem repeated across every billing service.

In 2018, Dr Brad Hindson — a specialist anaesthetist (FANZCA) in private practice — formally launched the anaesthetic billing service he'd spent years refining for his own practice and couldn't find anywhere on the market.

The problem wasn't competence. There were plenty of capable medical billing companies in Australia. The problem was that none of them were structured around the actual workflow of an anaesthetist. They asked anaesthetists to collect their own operating lists each week, chase their own surgical rooms, brief new admin staff every time something changed, and follow up on rejected claims themselves. The work of billing was being quietly handed back to the doctor.

Fast Tracking was built to invert that. We deal with the surgical rooms ourselves. We talk to the patients. We chase the rejections. The anaesthetist's only job is to be in theatre.

Since then, we've processed more than 200,000 invoices on behalf of Australian anaesthetists in private practice. The structure hasn't changed. The principle hasn't changed. The only thing that's grown is the number of anaesthetists who decided they didn't want to be the courier of their own data anymore.

Most anaesthetic billing services try to scale. We've made the deliberate choice not to grow past the point where personal service breaks down.

Maintaining direct relationships with every surgical room our anaesthetists work with takes time, attention, and follow-through. A larger billing service can't do it — that's why most of them push the list-collection back to the doctor. We can do it because we've chosen not to scale past the point where it stops working.

Larger services run on queues. Claims go in, claims come out, nobody knows your practice. Manual work gets pushed back to the doctor — list-collection, follow-up, briefing each new admin person — because the structure can't carry it.

As Practice Manager, she sits at the centre of everything operational — overseeing the Account Manager team, training new staff on the specifics of anaesthetic MBS quality-assurance review, and stepping in personally when an anaesthetist needs an answer that doesn't fit a script.

Her job is the bit you don't see: making sure the operational machinery behind every claim — the patient communication, the surgical-rooms liaison, the rejection follow-up, the audit trail — runs the way it's supposed to. Quietly, accurately, and without the anaesthetist needing to think about any of it.

Our team is based at 97 Forest Street, Bendigo — a regional Victorian city about 90 minutes north of Melbourne. The choice was deliberate: a stable, hireable team in a place where the kind of careful, considered work this service requires can be done without the churn of a metro back-office.

From Bendigo, we work remotely with specialist anaesthetists in private practice in every Australian capital city — collecting operating lists from their surgical rooms, managing patient pre-op communication, and following every claim through Medicare and the private health funds until it's resolved.
